| Taking the summer off to golf! |
|
I'm quitting my job and taking
the summer off to golf! That's what my friend announced to me in
1988 while I was still in college. Of course my question was " how
can you do that?" The answer was simple: Real Estate. With
the help of his parents, my friend had managed to acquire several
income-producing properties in the three years since he graduated
from college that were providing a significant monthly income.
Given my friend’s success I began to educate myself about
Real Estate Investing. By the time I graduated in 1990 the wheels
were in motion.

| Learning the ropes |
|
After three more years of educating myself and learning
the ropes from other investors, I decided it was time to begin
investing for myself in earnest. At age 25, my wife and I purchased
our very first house. Because we were a young couple and had little
savings we lived in this house and continued to save for a second
house, which we purchased in 1995. The first house was then rented
and thus my journey into Real Estate Investing began.
Over the subsequent years I continued to learn through reading,
conversations with other investors, and trial and error. I learned
how to find and obtain the best properties and, the best tenants.
I also learned how to structure the best financing deals based
on my then current objectives.

| A portfolio of over $1.5
Million - part-time! |
|
From 1995 through 2002 I was able to obtain many
more properties and now I have a portfolio valued at over $1.5M.
When these properties eventually become free from mortgages they
will generate a passive income of many thousands of dollars per
month.
I was able to achieve these results on a part-time basis. My full-time
job, working as an Electrical Engineer, left little time for other
pursuits. However, in 2001, with the Real Estate investments doing
as well as my full-time job, I left my engineering career in favor
of my true passion: Investing in Real Estate, helping others understand
the power of Real Estate investing and, helping them start down
the path towards their own successful investing career. |
